Every donation, no matter the size, makes a significant impact, allowing us to fulfill our commitment to these remarkable beings. If you would like to make a contribution to support our cause, below are some suggested options, or you can give a custom amount.
BUY A BALE
Almost every animal at The Winged Horse Equine Welfare eats hay as the staple of its diet. We need on average 200 bales per year to keep all our sentients well fed. Our "Buy a Bale" campaign helps us to provide much needed feed for our beautiful sentients.
DONATE A BALE OF HAY
Your generous donation of $100 ensures the provision of a round bale of hay for the animals under our care at the sanctuary. This vital contribution directly enhances the well-being of our cherished residents, allowing us to sustain their health and happiness. With your support, we can uphold our commitment to providing these animals with the care and comfort they deserve. Thank you for your compassionate contribution and for making a significant difference in the lives of the animals at our sanctuary.
We are incredibly grateful for your generosity in making a custom donation amount, whether it's a one-time contribution or a recurring monthly gift, to support Winged Horse Equine Welfare. Your contribution, no matter the size, makes a significant impact and helps us continue our mission to care for animals in need.

WH MAVVY
WH Mavvy, a 20-year-old standardbred gelding, found refuge at FreeHearts Animal Sanctuary in Tasmania last year, thanks to Jodie's connection. Concerned about Mavvy's safety, Jodie reached out to us after a recommendation from Kath at Gunyah Animal Sanctuary. Mavvy, though beloved, needed more space than Jodie could provide, so we welcomed him into our care. Now paired with WH Flynn, another resident in need of sponsorship, Mavvy enjoys his days with his buddy, relaxing in the sun and indulging in scrumptious meals. Sponsorship for Mavvy and WH Flynn would ensure their continued well-being and happiness at the sanctuary.
WH Flynn, a long-term resident, initially arrived via Rehoming Horses Victoria and was adopted by one of our volunteers. However, due to his nervousness under saddle, he returned to our care, as per our adoption policy. Flynn enjoys socializing with other horses, attempting to share Mavvy's feed, and utilizing Mavvy's tail as a fly swatter. However, he's wary of dental care, worming, and being caught. Despite his quirks, Flynn adores attention and could be placed in a companion home if the perfect match arises.
Meet Spotty, the resilient Shetland pony in his mid-20s, who defies the odds despite battling Cushing's disease. Spotty receives dedicated care, including twice-daily feeds and access to hay. Initially struggling to maintain weight and facing the grim prospect of euthanasia, Spotty found a second chance at life through our rehabilitation program. Since then, he has thrived, showing remarkable resilience and proving that with the right support and care, even the most vulnerable animals can flourish. Spotty's journey is a testament to the transformative power of compassion and dedication of our volunteers at Winged Horse.
Chuckie is a late 20's Shetland pony who faces significant health challenges, battling both inflammatory disease and Cushings. Once a therapy pony for a gentleman in a wheelchair, Chuckie's care needs became too much for his caregiver. Despite his struggles, Chuckie receives dedicated care, including twice-daily feedings, access to hay, and regular medication. His high level of needs demands ongoing attention and support, but his resilient spirit shines through as he continues to receive the care he deserves.
