Adopting an animal is a deeply rewarding experience that not only transforms the life of the animal but also enriches the lives of the adopter and their family. It's a commitment to providing love, care, and a forever home to an animal in need, offering them a second chance at life. Adopting means opening your heart and home to a new companion, forming a bond built on trust, understanding, and mutual affection.
If you're considering providing a loving home for a horse or pony, we kindly ask you to carefully review our adoption process.
Before adoption, a site inspection is required, along with the submission of three references, preferably one from an equine veterinarian. We do consider agistment properties, provided they offer ample space, shade, water, and feed for the horse or pony. Our adoption terms include a commitment that the animal will never be sold, and if the adopter can no longer care for them, they must be returned to TWHEW Inc.
Adopters are responsible for all medical, feed, and other expenses. TWHEW reserves the right to inspect the equine and their environment with 48 hours' notice, and in inadequate conditions, we retain the right to seize the animal at the adopter's expense. We request photo and written updates every three months and expect adopters to have a good understanding of equine care. Adequate shelter, water, and fencing are essential for the environment.
